The typeface Grandpa's Tape Measure was inspired by rooting through my grandpa's toolbox. His tape measure, from the 1930's, had steel type pressed onto the rough canvas which resulted in all sorts of quirks in the forms. I love turn of the century steel type, so after a lot of research I took a pass at creating number forms with a bit of quirk added classic ball terminal grace.
